What they did
Annual State of Mobile report since 2013 (93 pages in 2023), built straight from the paid product's estimates so buyers can reproduce most of it; interactive so readers can pull country cuts (e.g. Turkey). Around it: 2-4 gaming reports a year, a half-year check-in, a quarterly blog/report with a ranking data dump of movers by country, a detailed webinar, weekly follow-up blog posts, a LinkedIn Live with an outside expert, and a separate methodology PDF. Some data is kept for paying customers (e.g. iPhone time spent). Topics are chosen from webinar questions, email replies and journalist questions (e.g. new geos, a sports section in 2022).
What happened
Hosts call it the go-to mobile report for a decade; RevenueCat's CEO kept every year's edition and used it to convince investors.

In their words
Sub Club by RevenueCat · The Key Trends and Opportunities for Apps in 2023 — Lexi Sydow, data.ai“So this is officially, actually, our 10th year of publishing the report. We started in 2013.”
“Um so we do that every quarter as well as have sort of a ranking, a ranking data dump.”
“Part of the questions as well, so people um in webinars, we do a lot of webinars and that's where you'll get a lot of really good questions from folks and what they are asking about.”
“And that's part of that free report, you know. You give some of what you've got, you can't give it all.”
“I have like a folder of every year's report like stored, because there's also like interesting things to see.”
