When someone closes the payment sheet, offer a discount right away
Host says it can be very effective; Apple has pushed back on some apps
Workedpaywall
What they did
After a user taps the paywall CTA and dismisses the App Store payment sheet, immediately show a discount offer (e.g. 50% off) to win them back. Host notes Apple has reportedly hassled some developers over this as a form of price discrimination.
What happened
Host says many apps do it and it 'can be incredibly effective'; no numbers.
“A lot of apps now, when you dismiss the payment sheet, they'll offer a discount immediately and kind of try and win you back that way immediately. And that can be incredibly effective.”
