Drop lookalike and interest targeting and let Meta pick the audience

Broad worked much better; lookalikes and men 35+ didn't work

Workedpaid-social

What they did

Tested: lookalike audience from buyers' emails (didn't work), men 35+ matching the user base (didn't work), interests in kettlebells/kettlebell equipment (kind of fine), then broad with no targeting. Onboarding data showed half of new users are beginners, so the real audience is busy people training at home, not kettlebell fans.

What happened

Broad targeting 'started to work much better'.

“I did lookalike audience. It didn't work. I did I targeted males 35+ because that's the people that are using the our app, like busy dads, and so on”

“I just gave Meta to do whatever it wants to to do, and and started to like work much better”
