Give paying users a WhatsApp group where they can talk to the founder
Founder says it raised conversion and retention; instant bug and UX feedback
Workedcommunityretentionfeature-development
What they did
A WhatsApp group on Vadim's personal number, listed on the paywall as 'members-only chat group'. After purchase a welcome pop-up links to it. Members ask questions, send technique-check videos and get fast support; experienced members help beginners. Used to spot UX problems (e.g. people can't find saved workouts), catch crashing releases instantly, and run polls on missing features, with much higher response than email.
What happened
Increased conversion and retention (no numbers); instant product feedback. Vadim calls it a 'cheat code'.
“we created a commu- community WhatsApp group where the users can ask questions, send videos for technique checks, and overall get like a super-fast support for whatever they need”
“So after you purchase, you get a welcome pop-up and a link to the WhatsApp group. Now not only it increased increased the conversion and retention rates in the app”
