Copy what already works for competitors on TikTok, but change it 10-20%

Called the easiest route; exact copies on cold accounts often fail

What they did

Before the first campaign, search TikTok/Instagram for competitors in your niche and list their formats. Remix a winning format 10-20% (not a blatant copy) and plug your product in. If there are no competitors, find ordinary creators' organic videos about the problem your product solves (e.g. 'job market is so cooked', 'my face before peptides' before/after) and add a CTA at the end. Skip formats whose comments call out AI.

What happened

Nick calls remixing a competitor 10-20% the easiest route; copying exactly on an un-warmed day-zero account often doesn't work.

“I always urge people to remix it at least 10% to 20%, so it's not a blatant copy that avoids a couple issues right there off the bat.”

“there's plenty of accounts that, you know, will start day zero, they don't warm up properly, they don't have the audience, they'll copy the format exactly, and it doesn't necessarily work, right?”
