WeWard · B2C · walking rewards app
A/B test every feature on steps walked, and don't track time in app

What they did
WeWard deliberately does not track time spent in the app, so it never becomes a team target. The main metric is users' step count, and every feature is A/B tested to confirm it increases steps. Rationale: a user whose lifestyle hasn't improved after six months will stop using the app.

In their words
Sub Club by RevenueCat · How WeWard Hit 20M Users Without Paid Ads — Yves Benchimol, WeWard“We don't track the time spent into the app because we don't want to be a target for the team because the goal and what we track the most is the number of steps of people, and we run AB testing always for every features to be sure that these features increase the number of steps of people.”
