Nic Weber - Meet The Guy Who Solved TikTok
Joseph ChoiYeah. So you actually repeated the same concept for a client.
Nic WeberUh, no, this is us again. This is the one that we hit number five in our app category. Oh, this.
Joseph Choi"My job has a mandatory Secret Santa, and the requirement is $60. That's nearly a full day of work, just so Josh from Finance can regift it in three weeks. What are we doing for extra funds this year? ? ?" Oh, so it's fishing for comments.
Nic WeberBingo. And I want to be like super explicit here that we use our own platform, and the reason why Noise exists is because we initially built it as an internal growth hack tool. This is a growth hack tool that we used as app founders that we just built for ourselves, and has turned into, I want to use it as well.
Nic WeberOne of the things that we do all the time is how do we take new ideas and new concepts, use our platform to prove them true so that we can bring them to the rest of the people on Noise. And this was us trying what we called a super implicit version where we don't even mention like the app at all.
Nic WeberWe don't, Noise isn't mentioned here at all except for in the description. And then we have our users do comment seeding. I know people have talked about comment seeding before and that's really, really hard to do again, like it's a distribution and scale thing.
Nic WeberAnd so we have the distribution and scale problem figured out by having our users be super plugged in, and they're in here making comments about how the Noise App worked for them to do whatever this video is about. "Oh, I needed an extra $60 to buy this stupid thing. I did it on the Noise App."
