What they did
Launched a pet profile (set up a profile for your dog or cat; if it runs away, send an alert so nearby Life360 users look out for it). To cut through banner and push blindness, a feature called 'Peekaboo' showed an animated dog popping up on app open asking the user to pet it; tapping opened the pet profile feature.
What happened
Pet profile was a 'really huge success'; a lot of people created one.

Sub Club by RevenueCat · Freemium at Scale: Why Life360 Protects its Free Users – Giordano Contestabile“We basically, on app open, there was an animated dog popping up, like very cute and asking you to pet him, right, to pet it. And so you tap on it and then you open the feature. And so that worked very well.”
“We got a really huge success with that. A lot of people created it.”
