Steve Young - Beginners Guide to Buying & Selling Apps 2026
Joseph ChoiYeah, there's just more pressure when you're doing paid. You just have to like your CAC LTV just needs to be a lot more tight versus um if you're just doing organic, if you're just posting TikToks, or you're just changing the name of your app, like you it doesn't cost anything. So you can you can just try to get more volume, and then focus on monetization later.
Steve YoungIt's similar Here, Joseph, I'll tell you I'll show you this slide that I you So I give you credit for it. Here's a little call you out, and it's like it's the same thing, right? You test you test it, and for me it's just like building the app and getting it live, and if if there's crickets and I'm not getting downloads, [laughter] I don't finish the product. You know what I mean? So it's it's similar things, in a way, where I'm just but we have to, for organic, I actually have to build the product. But the product is just good enough. It's not perfect. And then if I can't get downloads, then I don't really try to invest in the monetization or building out the features. So I'm working with a client right now where we're just building a TestFlight that has only the viral feature, and then we give that to the creator. So then the creator just can make viral videos with just the TestFlight. And then those people that watch, if it goes viral, then people will, you know, …
