Drop prices far lower in Brazil, where ads are very cheap
Finally made ad spend in Brazil work; no numbers
Workedpricingpaid-sociallocalization
What they did
Because ad rates on Android and in developing countries like Brazil are so low, the app dramatically lowered its prices there, even below what you would expect, and paired that with paid ads. Cheap ads on one side and cheap prices on the other made return on ad spend work.
What happened
Saw good return on ad spend in Brazil after the price cut.
“the way they finally cracked ad spend in Brazil was just by dramatically dropping their prices in Brazil, because the ads were so cheap that they could afford to monetize”
