Pay creators only $1-2 per 1,000 views, after showing them your own viral videos
Signed 60-70 creators with no retainer; top creator earned $8K in a month

What they did
Mostly pure performance pay: $1-2 per 1,000 views, no retainer, paid monthly. Negotiate, since creators always ask for more. No payout cap (he admits capping is common and would suggest it), because a huge video converts into subscriptions. Views on old posts are paid for 3 months. Creators only accept CPM-only if they believe the app goes viral, so first show them proof: your own account, and a format that has gone viral many times ('this could be you'). Without proof, e.g. a brand-new app, start with retainers.
What happened
60-70 creators on $1-2 CPM with no retainer; the top payout was about $8K for ~8M views in one month. He says $1-2 CPM beats any paid ads by far.
In their words
The Superwall Podcast · Jay Raavi - Copy This UGC Strategy, It'll Make Your App Go Viral“So, it's a bit of a mix, but mostly just all performance based on just views.”
“So, I think at the start, I would recommend to like do retainers, um, just because you kind of have to at that at that at that point.”
“I think between like $1 and $2 is like is like decent. At that CPM like you're still like that that's way better than any paid ads like by by a long shot, still.”
“So, I track views on old posts for I want to say like 3 months.”
