Ask dog owners in the park to try the app for a free year
Found many onboarding issues in one to two hours
Workedonboardingvalidation
What they did
Went to a dog park, asked strangers walking their dogs to sign up and send one real question about their pet (supplied one if they had none), and watched them go through the flow while recording on a phone. Thank-you: a free one-year subscription. Guest also buys people coffee in cafes to test products the same way.
What happened
Found many places where the flow was clunky, not working or not resonating, in about an hour or two.

“I'll give them a year free of it as a thank you, like a year subscription for free as a thank you for it.”
“I found so many issues and so many things where it just wasn't resonating, bringing things across. It was clunky, it wasn't working.”
