Pick a space where 1-3 apps already make $100K+ a month, then twist the idea
Liftoff at $200-300K/month led to Runify; sold within a month of launch

Caleb Dean - I speedran an ai app from 0 to $100k exit in 26 days
Joseph ChoiYeah. So what What is your like ideation checklist? When you're evaluating new opportunities, how do you how do you figure out which ideas are worth working on?
Caleb DeanThe checklist that I have right now is like I want to be getting into a space where there's like anywhere from one to three apps that are at least doing 100k a month. And that doesn't mean like directly competing with them, like say if it's like a calorie tracker, I'm not going to build a calorie tracker. An example of that is exactly what I did with Runify, is looking at an app like Liftoff, who does ranked for gyms, but we're going to do ranked for running. But like if Liftoff
Caleb Deanwas doing 5k a month, like that's not enough validation for me to build on that. A lot of the time like those distribution channels can be like mimicked and you can do it to suit your app. And the reason why you I wouldn't do that with only one app, there's two things to consider. Like, one, there's like cases where it's kind of like this monopoly, like one app owns this like little space. And two, um one thing that I think people don't like think about enough is like a lot of apps are VC-funded.
Caleb DeanSo like there's a good example of Reframe. They're a quit drinking app, and I think they do anywhere from 500k to like a million dollars every single month.
