Fill the Spanish (Mexico) listing with extra keywords to rank in the US store

What they did
The US App Store indexes the English listing plus Spanish (Mexico), and now Russian and a few other localizations (about five sets). Fill each set's name, subtitle and keyword list: real translations if you localize, otherwise more English keywords. Each set is combined separately, so you can repeat a keyword between sets but not within one. Downside: users with that device language see that name.
What happened
Twice (or more) the characters for name, subtitle and keywords; secondary sets carry about the same weight as the main one.
In their words
Sub Club by RevenueCat · Maximizing Organic Growth with App Store Optimization — Ariel Michaeli, Appfigures“Apple uses the English localization for keywords, but also, in the US, Spanish from Mexico. And what that means is that instead of one set of words, one set of name, subtitle, keyword list, you get two.”
“So you can't share keywords between two different sets, which means you can duplicate between different sets, but not duplicate within the set, if that makes sense.”
“They do. Pretty much, yeah. From everything I've seen, they're pretty solid.”
