Add a home-screen widget showing distance to your partner and days together
Worked well, per the founder; copied from a competitor; no numbers
Workedretentionnotifications
What they did
Copied Couple Joy, one of the first couples apps to put a widget on the lock screen (and base its social media strategy on it): widgets showing the distance between partners (valuable for long-distance couples) and the number of days together, updated dynamically so a large widget reminds users of the app every time they unlock the phone. Discovered late, after notifications.
What happened
Guest says it worked really well and stands out more than notifications.
“One of the apps which did this really well was Couple Joy. I think Couple Joy was one of the first ones which put a widget on the lock screen, and that is what their social media strategy was based around as well.”
“So, here, as you can see, on the app itself, they've got a distance widget, which shows the distance between the partners.”
