When people close the 7-day trial paywall, offer 14 free days instead of a discount
Clients say 14 days worked much better than 7; no numbers
Workedpaywallexperimentation
What they did
Start with a 7-day trial on the paywall; when the user taps X, instead of showing a discount, show 'Try it on 14' (a 14-day trial). A few App Masters clients found 14-day trials beat 7-day. David suggests the same shape for testing 30-day trials: keep the 3- or 7-day trial as default and offer the longer trial only at X-out or cancellation.
What happened
A client reported 14 days 'working way better for us than 7 ever did'. Depends on the app.
“they'll start with a 7-day trial, and then when you hit X on the paywall, instead of like giving you a discount, they're saying, "Try it on 14."”
“"Hey, 14 days is, you know, working way better for us than 7 ever did."”
