Before the paywall, add two screens: '7 days free' and 'we'll remind you'
Trial starts up 56% on one app; up to +100% on others. Weaker on a 3-day weekly plan

What they did
Copied from ReciMe. At the end of onboarding: a feature video, then screen 1 'We offer 7 days for free', screen 2 'You'll get a reminder 2 days before your trial ends', then the push-notification permission prompt, then the paywall. Best with a yearly plan defaulted with a 7-day trial; tried on a weekly plan with a 3-day trial and it worked less well.
What happened
+56% trial activations on one App Masters app. Other case studies: trial activations +100%, trial -> paid +160%, LTV +~100%. Did not work as well with a 3-day weekly plan as with a 7-day yearly plan.

“Then they have this screen, this is why I call it the three-screen paywall because this is screen one, "We offer 7 days for free." Screen two, "You'll get a reminder 2 days before your trial ends."”
“And those two screens alone, right before the paywall, right here, for one of our apps, increased conversions, increased trial activations by 56%”
“We tried it on a three-de- like on like on a weekday on a weekly, three-day plan. It didn't work out as well as a seven-day yearly plan”
