Release restaurant reservations weekly like a sneaker drop, and say it's full early
6,000-person waitlist; sold out for 2 months and got press coverage
Workedpr-launchcommunity
What they did
Borrowed the Supreme / sneaker-bot drop playbook for his dad's new restaurant: a reservation waitlist, with reservations dropped every Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. and announced in a local Facebook group. On the first drop only ~20 people signed up for 100 spots, but he declared it full anyway: better to look full and have people chase you than to look available. The waitlist also let them control table sizes (e.g. seat a party of 8 at a 7-seat table plus a chair) to fill capacity. TikToks, Google Ads and Facebook also ran.
What happened
6,000 people on the waitlist, sold out for 2 months, and a press article because nobody could get in.

In their words
The Superwall Podcast · Zuhair Lakhani - How to Make Viral Content 100% Using AI in 2025“We started this waitlist, right, which I saw like, you know, from Supreme and from all these sneaker bots.”
“Speaking of drops, like you're saying, we used to drop our reservations every Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. I put this post on the Facebook group.”
“It like it's better to look like you're full and get people to hit you up, rather than look like, you know, you still have reservations, you know, a day in.”
