What they did
For apps with enough data, run correlation analysis (e.g. Amplitude's correlation score) between core events and becoming a subscriber. At a rap pocket-studio app, users who entered the recording studio and used a particular filter or advanced editing feature were more likely to convert. Then build segments of users showing parts of that behavior and push them along the same path with CRM. Registration in apps where it's optional is itself a high-intent signal for upsell.
What happened
Advanced-editing users converted at higher rates.

In their words
Sub Club by RevenueCat · How to Boost Retention with Subscription Lifecycle Messaging — Alice Muir, Phiture“if we use the pocket studio example, people who have entered the recording studio and they've used a particular filter, for example, or like particular editing advanced editing feature, those users are more likely to convert to a subscription”
“how can we create segments of high-converting users and then find segments of people that replicate aspects of that behavior?”
