What they did
Ad story continues into the funnel: users arriving from an ad get a long question flow (work situation, tools, where they chat, pain points, goals) with answers reflected back and a summary at the end, then 'Get Sam for $1' promo week, then $10/week, straight to Stripe checkout. Answers are actually used to personalize the agent. Direct website visitors skip most questions because they weren't warmed up by an ad. Funnel length and screens are A/B tested.
What happened
Long question funnel 'proved could work very good'; 'happy friction' increases intrigue.
In their words
The Superwall Podcast · Patrick Stuart-Constant & Pablo Sánchez - $16M AI CEOs: How to Make $1.3M/Month With AI Apps“I believe uh Pablo, correct me, but if you're going directly through the website, we try to just get you to like the experience quicker because you haven't had that ad to sort of warm you up and get you excited and create you know that willingness to answer the questions.”
“now we are trying in this product is like to have a funnel where we have many questions, and that's something that we proved could work very good, very very good, uh because the person invest quite some time. It's an interesting investment, it's like friction, but it's happy friction.”
