Host… generates questions, and you have an interactive demo, you can see the tree growing, you get the the answers wrong, and it explains to you why you got it wrong. I hit the paywall and then I said, "Maybe later," instead of signing off immediately, and then you go to, "When is the exam?" So I'm like, "Okay, it's in 2 weeks." It's almost like the paywall continues now. So like, can you walk me through like how you thought about this part?
Julian AlvarezLet's say that 50% of people complete like upload something and get to the checkpoint. All right, well if you show a paywall, that means that 50% of people that complete the mini review or do this first experience will see the paywall, versus if you only show the paywall after the first time you generate and only like 25% of people get there, then you're basically missing out on a 25% chunk that never even saw the paywall. So this is true for almost anything, right? Like and that's why some people have very long onboarding.
Julian AlvarezSo one thing we also strategically do is like we split our onboarding into three main phases. So one is just like signing up at the beginning, which is after you generated questions, then we ask you to sign up. Here's like the second part, which is choose what exam this is for if you said you're a student, or turn on notification reminders if you're on mobile, which we have a mobile app and it'd be turn on push notifications there.
