Daniel Heintzma - I speedran a new app from 0 to $2m/year in 6 months (here's how)
Daniel Heintzman… posting like these videos. Basically, the concept is like how I cook on Hinge. And basically, it gives you like prompts on things you can say like on your profile. And so it was like very actionable things that people can add to their profile. But some of them were like more kind of funny and humorous. So, some of them like did quite well on the algorithm after only like a couple weeks of posting. And so, we added like a link on our bio to
Daniel Heintzmanjoin the preorder of our app. And then the other piece, which was I think kind of smart as well, which I'd recommend doing, is we had like proof of willingness to pay from our audience. And so what we did was in the first couple weeks of posting on Instagram, we asked our followers to DM us for a profile review. And then we'd ask them like for payment. So like, I think we was like asking for like $15. And if you send us screenshots of your profile, we'll give you like feedback manually. People were actually paying us before we built the app to give feedback on their profile.
Daniel HeintzmanUm just based off of like the traction we had been getting on our social media and our on our Instagram specifically. And so, I think that was like a good way to get like a proof of concept out in terms of like um that this was actually an idea that people were willing to pay for.
Joseph ChoiSo would you make like dedicated videos just about like, "Hey, does anyone like se- send send us money and we'll give and you'll like review your profile?" Or is it more of like a small call to action at the end of the normal the normal videos from the page?
Daniel HeintzmanYeah, it was more just like in the caption of the video. But the main video itself was like designed for virality. I actually started posting on like TikTok for the first time ever. It was like my first like month ever posting on TikTok. I saw what was like what people were doing well on other TikTok slideshow apps and thought about like how we can adapt it for our own audience. So, I actually made all these designs in Figma. But all the text, I didn't even come up with. The text is like based off of another page that I saw that was doing quite well. I think the TikTok was called TikTok account was called like Men's Improvement, or something like that.
Joseph ChoiMhm.
