Wavve Boating · B2C · boat navigation app
Write the whole article for niche trade journalists, images included, and send it
Got steady coverage and credibility; modest downloads but led to big partnerships
Workedpr-launch
What they did
Built a large list of journalists writing in the marine space and sent each a fully written article with images ready to drag and drop, while offering interviews to those who wanted their own piece. Picked a human, less technical angle that stood out from horsepower stories: a Waze-like community where boaters share mooring, beach and fishing spots so 'anyone can boat like a local wherever they go'.
What happened
Articles got published and built recognition; it did not produce hockey-stick growth, but a Quebec article led BRP's chief engineer to try the app and a trade magazine piece led Freedom Boat Club to reach out.

In their words
Sub Club by RevenueCat · Navigating App Growth Through Strategic Partnerships and Media Wins — Adam Allore, Wavve Boating“And so what I did was first get a huge list of journalists who are writing in the marine space, and then basically wrote the article for them, had all the image ready to go.”
“So, the story there was sort of this, here's this application that can allow anyone to boat like a local wherever they go.”
“I probably at the time thought it was going to make this big hockey-stick growth once we get this one article published. That wasn't the case”
