Send partner members a link that skips the paywall; police abuse later
Founder says activation, not tech, was the real hurdle; no numbers
Workedonboardingpaywall
What they did
For licensed club members, used deep links so they bypass the normal paywall. Deliberately skipped complex anti-abuse authentication, planning to self-police and clean up afterwards, to keep activation as easy as possible. Focused effort on getting members to open the club's email, install and activate, with reminders.
What happened
Kept activation simple; the main challenge was behavior change among members, not the technology.

In their words
Sub Club by RevenueCat · Navigating App Growth Through Strategic Partnerships and Media Wins — Adam Allore, Wavve Boating“So, I think architecturally, I think we ended up going with like a deep linking solution, so that we could actually get them past our traditional paywall.”
“And my thought was, well, if that's a problem, we'll make sure we've got mechanisms for self-policing after the fact, and we can go in and clean things up.”
