GTM Sauce

The $100K MRR SaaS Playbook (Tibo)

Tibo, who sold Tweet Hunter and Taplio for $8M, now runs five SaaS products making ~$700K/month combined: Revid.ai (~$400K/month), Outrank (~$200K/month), SuperX, Feather (bought for $250K) and PostSync. He walks through a 12-step playbook: ship MVPs in days, get feedback from 5-10 core users, route support to his X DMs until $10K/month, fix requests within hours, nail retention before acquisition, launch on Product Hunt and build in public to $10K, then scale with SEO, ads and affiliates (Outrank went $20K to $200K/month that way), and double down on the one or two channels that work.

10 tactics

Revid.ai · AI video maker

Daily flow of users to the founder; fast fixes turn them into customers for life

On each product, until it reaches $10K/month in revenue, the support link goes straight to Tibo's Twitter/X DMs. This creates a daily flow of users talking to him, makes people feel close to the founder, and lets him react fast: fixing a reported issue within 5-10 minutes. Part of 'talk to users every single day' to learn why they do or don't come back.

Revid.ai · AI video maker

Founder says requesters become vocal advocates; no numbers

Stay active on social media to keep a constant relationship with users, who ask for new things daily. Fix small issues immediately. When a user asks for a feature in a tweet, build it within an hour or two; the requester talks about it and becomes an advocate. Also uses every product himself so he spots issues first.

Outrank · B2B · SEO content tool

Took one product from $0 to $20K a month on building in public alone

Once retention is solid, launch on Product Hunt and talk about the software on social media (building in public), which is free. Tibo does this for every product until it reaches $10K/month. Outrank grew from $0 to $20K/month by building in public alone.

Outrank · B2B · SEO content tool

Grew from $20K to $200K a month (three changes at once)

Building in public stopped being enough past $20K/month. For Outrank they started running ads, hired someone dedicated to SEO, and ramped up the affiliate program, making it very easy for affiliates to recommend Outrank. Tibo sees SEO, ads and affiliates as channels you set up once that can scale very far (ad platforms not named).

Unnamed company

Founder expects ~90% to fail, so speed means more shots

Take shortcuts to get an MVP out in days or weeks: no-code (he built some MVPs with Bubble), boilerplates, and skipping things expert developers wouldn't compromise on. Reasoning: ~90% of products fail, so a year per attempt could mean nine years to a winner; shipping a new product every week compresses that.

Unnamed company

Founder says it reveals why users come back; no numbers

Find 5-10 people who are squarely the target audience and reach them via a tweet, a subreddit or email. Ignore feedback from irrelevant people (e.g. your mom). Build a real relationship with each to understand their workflow and core pain. Talk to them every day, looking for recurring usage: why they do or don't come back, and how to reproduce that for others. Understand users' ultimate goal to deliver far more value.

Keep iterating with users until they can't live without the software before going broad on acquisition; otherwise most people pushed to the product leave right after trying it. Treat users complaining as a sign of stickiness: someone who takes time to complain is committed and wants it fixed.

Tweet Hunter · X growth tool

Portfolio at ~$700K a month; one earlier product nearly died from X changes

Chose a portfolio over one product mainly out of fear: AI news can make a startup obsolete overnight, and platform changes can kill a product (X under Elon Musk almost killed Tweet Hunter at ~$200K/month). With five products, losing one to an OpenAI feature launch wouldn't end the company.

Feather · Notion-to-blog tool

Makes about $10K a month; no view on payback given

Acquired Feather, a tool that publishes Notion pages as a blog, for $250K; it is the product he spent the most money on.

PostSync · social post scheduler

SEO works well for the social scheduler; no numbers

After testing many acquisition channels, growth for each product comes from one or two. Kill the rest and double down on those. For PostSync, SEO works because people ask many questions about social media, so the team keeps finding new keywords and queries to target.
