Split one wordy onboarding screen into tap-through slides like Instagram stories

Lifted signups from download to entering personal details; no numbers given

Workedonboarding

What they did

Replaced a single word-heavy onboarding screen with several one-idea slides users tap through like Instagram stories (tap right to advance). Removed the 'Get Started' button from those slides; without it users read everything instead of skipping. The same story format is used for learning content.

What happened

Lifted the download to personal-info (signup) step; no button also beat a 'Get Started' button.

“So from download to adding their personal information, uh this new style definitely did um lift our actual signup.”

“So there's the second part to this where we had a "Get Started" button here versus not having any buttons. And not having any buttons actually worked better.”
Jae Hwang
“because everyone's so used to story format from Instagram, they just unthinkingly they just click right side and they know that the screen flips”
