Let web buyers cancel in one click from their account page
Complex save flows showed no big revenue or churn change
No effectcancellation-flow
What they did
For web purchases, offer an easy cancel on the web (US click-to-cancel): no phone calls, no required reason. In the customer portal the user clicks the subscription and cancels. Optional, legal win-back offers: pause the subscription, or one year for $10. Keep buttons visible and wording plain (contrast: Amazon's hidden, multi-step cancel). Start simple, then optimize.
What happened
Guest sees no huge uplift in revenue or drop in churn from elaborate cancellation flows, so a simple cancel link is the default.
“You can add some win-back offers here like, "Hey, do you want to pause your subscription? Or maybe get uh one year of subscription for just $10?" Something like that. It's legal.”
“We don't see a huge uplift in revenue or like downlift uh in in subscription churn with uh these cancellation flows.”
