What they did
When a renewal charge is declined (insufficient funds or other decline reasons), email the user: 'We couldn't process your renewal payment. Please update your card.' Include a button to cancel the subscription as well.
What happened
Guest says it can increase revenue and keeps the payment account healthy (fewer chargebacks).
“it's completely fine to send uh an email to the user saying like, "Hey, we couldn't process your renewal payment. Please update your card." And then there would be a button to cancel their subscription.”
