After payment, offer a one-click add-on with its price and a 'Purchase' button
Raises LTV; hidden-price versions convert 60-70% but anger users

What they did
After the first subscription payment and before sending the user to the app, offer extra products (printable PDF workout plans, extra subscriptions, other apps' subscriptions, physical products). The saved payment token makes it one click, no card re-entry or Apple Pay confirm. Show the price clearly ('This will cost you additional $90') and label the button 'Add to my cart' or 'Purchase', not 'Continue'. Don't hide that the add-on is a subscription.
What happened
Guest says upsells increase LTV; funnels that hide the price get 60-70% upsell conversion but unhappy users (the pattern in the FTC case).
“It's completely fine to to to to to sell upsells, but you have to clearly explain what will will happen.”
“Clearly showing the price, like, "This will cost you additional $90," and instead of uh putting uh a button, "Continue," you add like, "Add to my cart," or "Purchase," something like that.”
“And it's pretty easy to do that uh because you save the payment token, and all the other upsells, all the other payments can be done with just one click.”
