Put each Apple Ads keyword in its own ad group on exact match

~$6-7K/month spend; app stayed profitable; host says clients see it work too

Workedapple-search-ads

What they did

Exact-match campaign where every ad group holds a single keyword (SKAG). Originally done because RevenueCat and MMPs only reported at ad-group level, so one keyword per ad group gave keyword-level revenue data. Kept the setup the seller had built when the app was bought. Spend ~$6-7K last month.

What happened

Seller made ~$500K last year with it and was profitable; other clients using SKAG campaigns perform well.

“Now, the other campaign that I have for our app, we also do a SCAG, so that's Single Keyword Ad Group.”

“So, since you could only do key ad group level, you would just put one keyword so that you would see how that one so you that you would get keyword-level data.”
Steve P. Young
“And we've seen other clients who do a SCAG campaign perform really well, so we do a SCAG campaign as well.”
