What they did
Challenges were already popular: many people posting on TikTok and searching Google and the App Store. First campaigns aimed to capture a slice of that traffic via organic (ASO, TikTok) plus Apple Ads. Phase two was influencer marketing; phase three paid ads to reach $1M ARR. Guest warns Apple Ads is hard to scale profitably in competitive categories, and ASO alone is rarely viable unless validated before launch.
What happened
BeHard passed $1M ARR.
- Stage
- Scale (launch to $1M ARR)
“Okay, there people posting in TikTok, we'll try to get into TikTok. There's people searching like in Google, in Apple App Store, we're trying to get like into that.”
“phase two maybe a little bit of influencer marketing, and then phase phase three to really get it to a million ARR, well, you're going to need some paid ads”
“Yeah, exactly, exactly. In our case, right, right, right.”
