Joseph ChoiAnd then is there any kind of scan before the paywall, where they're like kind of anticipating some kind of result?
Nicole CheungI don't think so. I think we did beforehand, but we switched to a hard paywall afterwards. I would actually recommend a lot of users Well, a lot of founders to just completely hard-paywall right after the onboarding screens, cuz for some reason, the conversion is better for for Sprout and for my newest app.
Joseph ChoiFor Sprout, did you have Are there any screens before this paywall?
Joseph Choi… whatever that is, like software engineering. With GlamUp, it's like there's different types of scans, and they do the scan that they want the most, and then get paywalled. Um, so you're kind of just like letting people increase their own intent level before they get to the paywall. Did you Do you see like a a conversion rate increase when you do this? Like, did you ever have uh just hard paywall without letting the user kind of poke around?
Nicole CheungI totally get Like, like thank you for for understanding this perspective. But then we ran a test um of complete hard paywall after the onboarding. They don't even go into the to the app. Unfortunately, we see a 50% increase in conversion.
Joseph ChoiOh, wow. Okay. So, I was just Everything I said, just completely ignore that. [laughter] It's the opposite It's quite the opposite. That is a very interesting insight, though. Like, you So, you you 50% increase if you don't allow them to kind of poke around. Okay, that that was a very That was like an onboarding paywall masterclass. I think um I learned a lot from that. So, we kind of got a little bit sidetracked. So, you You're talking about …
