What they did
Host's challenge rule: post once a day documenting the journey. With no chosen channel he posted everywhere: X (existing followers), LinkedIn (existing followers), Reddit forums (no product promotion allowed, must be useful) and YouTube.
What happened
No real value from X; Reddit takes a lot of nurturing; one $99 sale by end of 30 days. Did surface the signal that LinkedIn was working and built a content habit.
- Stage
- Pre-launch (pre-revenue)
- Effort
- Daily posting for 30 days across 4 platforms
“But I didn't have any specific channel that I was aligned with, so I posted everywhere. I had some followers on X. I had some followers on LinkedIn. I went and participated in Reddit forums. I also posted on- on YouTube.”
“So, I did a lot of things, but I don't think I really got any value from it, especially X.”
“Uh, with Reddit forums, it takes a lot of work. There's a lot of nurturing, you have to be useful, you can't promote any product.”
