Reframe · B2C · app for drinking less
Start users on one core feature, then add new tools over the following weeks
Users disliked the full toolkit up front; gradual rollout got tools used

What they did
Showing new users Reframe's whole toolkit didn't land. Instead users start with the drink tracker; a few weeks in they are shown a couple of tools, and once they use one or two, more tools follow. The aim is one habit at a time; asking for several tools on day one leads to zero, and 'I'll come back tomorrow' means they won't.
What happened
Users didn't like the full toolkit up front, but started using tools when introduced a few weeks in
“we realized that when we started just showing people the toolkit, I don't know, they didn't like it very much.”
“initially they started out with the drinks tracker. And then, like over time, a few weeks in, then we would show them like a couple tools.”
