Asher Herbstman & Thatcher Clough - I Built a $30k/mo App That Helps You Quit Smoking
HostLet's look at your Figma. Let's just like dive in.
Thatcher CloughThis is our Figma of like all of our current onboarding, so we can go slide by slide of like why we're choosing to do different things and how we are focusing on certain things. The intro screen is really important for what we're showing users. Originally, when we were first collecting data, I think that collecting data on your onboarding is super important. In the beginning, we weren't collecting any data on the user until they signed in with their phone number, and the issue with that is we don't know how many people are opening the app and then not putting in their phone number, or how many people are never even opening the app to begin with. So really collecting data early on and being able to see the different drop-offs at different points is super helpful for it and helped us kind of build where we're at right now. There's about 85, 90% conversion on this screen, but we've seen it fluctuate over time depending on what ads were running and what intent of people are coming into the app.
Asher HirschmanEverybody feels like they don't have intention with their relationship with weed, they want to get clear-headed, but it paints a dream outcome of 30 days without weed. It's not trying to show you the widgets, or the this, or the that. It's showing you where you're going to be as a result of doing this onboarding and downloading the app.
