Buy App Store reviews that mention your target keywords
One or two keyword reviews moved rankings; stopped because stores punish it
Workedaso
What they did
In 2015, App Masters bought App Store reviews that included the keywords the app wanted to rank for. Stopped because Google suspends apps for it and Apple has gotten better at detecting it; Steve now tells people not to do it. Big companies still buy reviews in volume.
What happened
Apps went up in keyword rankings from just one or two reviews containing the right keywords; practice abandoned due to ban risk.

In their words
Sub Club by RevenueCat · App Store Ethics, Dark Patterns, and Rule-Breakers — Steve P. Young, App Masters“2015, I figured out that if you have keywords in your App Store reviews, that would actually help your keyword rankings, and we would see apps go up in the keyword ranking just by one or two reviews with the right keywords in there.”
“And I stopped doing that, and stopped buying those reviews.”
