Make many versions of each winning ad and raise spend slowly
Fast spend increases raised CAC and erased gains; slow scaling grew revenue
Mixedpaid-social
What they did
Whenever an ad works, create a bunch of variations. Tried scaling spend fast; CAC rose until results evened out, so they increase spend slowly. Bottleneck is creative volume: they think they need ~10x current creative output to scale spend fast.
What happened
Fast scaling raised CAC with no net gain; gradual scaling helped take the apps from ~$25K/month two months earlier to ~$41K MRR.
In their words
The Superwall Podcast · George Lampropoulos - Meet the ex-wrestler making $41k/mo with AI apps“Anytime we see a good ad, we just create a bunch of variations. So, we've tried scaling spend really fast. One thing we notice is when we go too fast, like we just see like a rise in CAC and then like we just equal out”
“we need to just produce like 10 times the amount of creatives we have right now to make sure that we could just keep increasing spend.”
