$140K MRR Niche Dating App in Just 6 Months
… up thanks to this and afterwards it was like you know 200 300 followers and just people signed up from this that's amazing bro i love it super simple okay let's get back into the app itself yeah so that's how i started actually that's how i tested and validated the concept there were also two apps in france that i'm gonna mention in a few slides that were already doing this so i was like all all right, if they are doing it, I can do it as well.
So yeah, the app itself, it's a dating app, but it's exclusively for active singles, for people that do sports. I would say sometimes a lot of people ask me, what would you define someone that practices sports? My definition is someone that practices sport at least once a week is an active single. That's, for me, the baseline of it. Okay. Let me share the screenshots. Yeah, definitely. So yeah, the app is how you see it right now.
This is our version two. So we ran on the first design for like five months, design we made ourselves, and we had a designer come and rebuilt a bit from this. So that's the new version of it. We have the competition stamps on the right that's going to be implemented as we speak and maybe next week. got the new match uh screen and uh and the screenshot on the on the middle so yeah this is the app i love it if you want to you want to use this …
… so then it was like in september 2025 a couple of months ago i started looking for a co-founder. This was maybe one of the toughest things I had to do since I started this app because really so much depends on the team, on the founding team. I found my gem that I'm going to present in a few slides. And we started working on the app in October, early October, and we launched it on December 26th. And I saw on the chat that someone said iOS dating
apps are impossible to get approved since 2024. Good history lesson though. So I knew I had this insight from other people that wanted to do it. And basically they had like a design spam from Apple and we didn't get it because I think that the app was niche and there weren't that many dating apps for sporty people. There is a lot of dating apps, but not that many for sporty people. So that's one of the reasons why we didn't get it, I think. I like that. Thanks for sharing that.
Yeah, no worries. So yeah, the app was live. What was our play? Basically, we weren't experts in this, but we knew that online dating was like a $10 billion market. And there wasn't any product that was like answering the need for active singles to actually meet each other. There was, you know, these big trends of like Strava being the new dating app, RunClubs being the new dating app, but they were not dating apps per se. So I was like, let's do …
