$140K MRR Niche Dating App in Just 6 Months
… monetization back then. A month later we had monetization, but you know, there were already users on the app. It was tough. Density of people was tough. It's still tough but it was way more back then but still people paid and they seemed like they were okay to pay that was when i realized that we had something going on you know like people there weren't that many people on the app yet they the users still paid their our subscriptions so that's
when i knew that it was something and just to get back on the the france only not the us um i have a really biased opinion on this where i do think that you have to if if your home country has a big enough market why why why do why would someone want to open in the u.s like you can test so many things in your own country before going uh to to a market that you do not understand where budget is like infinite times more than than yours so yeah even if uh the second country we're not going to
open the u.s our first english-speaking country is not going to be the u.s because i just don't have the cash but uh yeah it's uh yeah i'm i do i'm a big fan of opening in your home country yeah and is it have you raised any off of this gabriel so yeah yeah we've we've raised a small preced um but uh yeah right now we are focusing on uh being uh on not losing any money uh hopefully So luckily we are earning some money thanks to the ads because …
… especially in dating apps where like your product is the users. So that's like an important stuff compared to other apps. It's something I mentioned afterwards. But our product is the users. If we want to have a good product, we have to have good users. so that's why you need a lot of cash for it yeah amazing i know my internet's a little bit right now i apologize but it's amazing that you've been able to do all these numbers just doing niche
dating app in that's it i love the focus and the hyper is and really understanding the market and the product it's i think it's mandatory for dating apps like density is so much important you can't launch on several countries and be like all right i'm gonna have 10 users in the Netherlands, 10 users in the US, you have to launch in one specific area. And it seems easy on this slide is just like every milestone achieved. But of course, it was like, filled with obstacles. And yeah, we had a lot of downsides. We had a lot of upsides. But yeah, it's a good
road right now. Well, is there, I want to ask you about there a downside that you remember? um so there were a lot of downsides i didn't know so i i'm i didn't have any entrepreneur adventure before that one that's my first one and i didn't realize it was that many ups and downs um but uh yeah for instance moderation is a big downside downside of dating apps uh having a lot of fake profiles so we as you say as you see on the on the slide we …
