Collect a waitlist with LinkedIn posts like 'top 200 companies hiring now'

40-50K sign-ups, but only ~0.5% signed up at launch and almost none paid

What they did

During the ~2 months of building, Dan kept posting on LinkedIn (e.g. 'here are the top 200 companies hiring now') to collect emails, plus some UGC posts driving to the site, and Typeform surveys. Inspired by Tabs' UGC.

What happened

40-50K waitlist sign-ups; only ~0.5% even signed up at launch and nobody paid. Dan now says waitlists are useless: get people to pay, even for a small version.

“I kept making posts on LinkedIn about here are the top 200 companies hiring now. We would get emails that way”

“only about like half a percentage of the waitlist converted to even signing up. Like the waitlist did not convert at all. No one paid for it.”
