Mario Manero & Alejandro Sanchez - Our App Makes $30K/Month Profit Using This Simple Strategy (copy us)
Mario Ortiz Manero… "Oh, this app is like sounds super sketchy," right? And so for example, for that, for like that specific reason for our app, we put a bit of research, we put like some effort into showing that we actually know what we're doing and that we like have some social proof, and so on. So like, it's not so much as copying the screens, but like having sort of like in mind, okay, what do we want to achieve and how like what frameworks do we want to use?
Alejandro SanchezPretty much this is all about the dream outcome, and we always like put some some social proof in there like between the screens. We actually talked to Chris from the Quitter team, or like ex-Quitter. He basically like told us to focus more on this onboarding, and like also add these social proof uh screens in between. We go into the into the problem, and we try to dissect it. And then we try to position ourselves as the experts who are the best to solve this problem. Right, so this is
Mario Ortiz ManeroAnd these aren't just any questions, as well. Like, we're asking them Like, we're sort of doing this also to customize the experience. Like, we're asking them, "So what apps are the most addicting to you?" And then we show a screen with specifically YouTube or TikTok, or whatever they chose. And then, like for example, they made them feel sad or anxious, and we showed like the opposite feeling, right?
Alejandro SanchezThere were so many options here. And we also showed the research, like basically, you learn about yourself as well. You learn about the whole quitting social media. It's also like a learning experience for you, right? And this is also like some value you you get like during the onboarding, right? Because otherwise, the onboarding is just, you know, you fill out a quiz, you fill out this, but this is like a education as well, in a way.
Mario Ortiz ManeroBut I think what what's important like how we got here, like is first like really obsessing over like watching stuff like the Superwall podcast, or like stuff on X, like all resources online that's available, like App Mafia, and so on. And also, like sometimes it's really good to make an investment, like a monetary investment, for example, to talk with someone you aspire to. Like, for example, we we literally paid Chris later to like give us some feedback on on the onboarding. And and that completely changed our our trajectory. Or we spoke with Fisher, uh Kacher, uh Brokander and so on, to give us some feedback as well. And like those had like really, really high ROIs, because it sort of made us go from these crappy onboardings that you're going to see now, into like something that was actually more important at that time.
Alejandro SanchezYeah, exactly. It's always a good investment to invest in knowledge, and this is like a plug for Consumer Club, which is why we invested in Consumer Club. And like everyone who's listening to this podcast, I recommend you you invest in Consumer Club, because you know, knowledge is always a great investment. Even like paying for a mentor is always a great investment.
