How He Built an $800K ARR App Using Simple Strategies
… your... So we have our own attribution engine that we use, that we've been using for a long, long time, right? So we use search ads. We don't really get into app install. We haven't seen any success with Google with app install just because the attribution is so bad since, you know, the 2021, right? The privacy issues that Apple introduced, you know, So it's really hard to attribute on Google for us anyways. Maybe some people have solved it.
If you have, please let me know. But we have our own attribution engine that imports all the conversions at night. And then we use the Google search basically as our channel for everything for Google. And then are you taking them directly straight to the app store? Like I've heard others take people to a CPP and then that CPP becomes sort of their attribution. Is that what your setup looks like? we have a hybrid right we did a lot of testing on that right yeah we have a hybrid some of our apps we take them to a landing page and some of them we do directly to the store we've done a lot
of testing and it's weird some apps just work directly and some apps want a landing page i don't know right like so it's what the truth i don't care what it is we just want the truth and and uh that's how we do it what is the landing and look reveal i'm gonna keep prodding you just back up and i completely understand yeah i don't want to reveal all your secrets but i'm gonna I'm going to keep prodding. But like, what does that landing page look like? Because I've heard from others that it's just like one landing page with some social proof. You click like install and then takes them directly to the app store. How have you set that up?
Do you have anything on that landing page? Okay. That's it. Basic. Yeah, it's so basic. You don't want them to go anywhere else. You want to lock them in to that landing page. It has to fit on the phone perfectly. You know, your main promise, your main whatever right away, you know, install right there. You have to have it on that first page. um and uh that's you know what you said is the basics and it works okay i gotta try it again i i was taking them directly to the app store page using a custom product page and was not working for me so and this is why i always like every weekend i'm like i love doing this because
i get to learn from everybody and the guests too all right hey chris is super cool oh sophia she's my she's my uh she's awesome the lady at she's my customer support at adaptie they're an amazing company yeah okay well she's spying in on you all right chris back to you uh yeah so this is uh the 50 10 that we've seen some major growth um and i don't i can tell you

- Use Apple Search Ads only if the cost per install fits your numbersBest paid channel for this app; too pricey for many of their others
- Run Google and Bing search ads and feed sales back to them every nightTwo of the three main paid channels; Bing small but profitable
- Test lifetime prices from $4.99 up to $49.99 at fixed ad spend to find the ceiling$29.99 beat $49.99 on day-one revenue; a later $39.99 now beats $29.99
- Build quick AI-coded versions of several app ideas; keep the one that sells
- Spin off an AI Bible app for chat users who asked religious questionsSold at $29.99 lifetime with little effort; ads near break-even

- Title the App Store page with plain search terms and put the brand last
- Test app icons first, including wildly different versionsGuest says icons move conversion most; no numbers
- Test dropping the onboarding screens entirelyNo onboarding won in several apps; even one welcome screen hurt
