Show a longer free trial only to people who close the first paywall
Clients report longer trials win only as a second offer; no numbers
Workedpaywallcancellation-flow
What they did
Default trial lengths: 7-day trial on yearly plans, 3-day on weekly plans. When a user closes the normal paywall, show a follow-up offer with a longer trial. Steve contrasts this with RevenueCat's macro data that longer trials convert better overall.
What happened
Anecdotally from several clients: longer trials work better only for users who declined the first paywall.
“from what I've seen is week, 7-day usually works well for yearly, and then 3-day usually works for well for weekly, right?”
“when people X out of your normal paywall, then show them a longer trial.”
“anecdotally, I heard from other clients that, yeah, longer trials work better only if they said no to your initial paywall.”
