What they did
The previous owners followed Steve's ASO playbook: built multiple apps, and one took off. It ranks #1 for a few keywords with popularity ~41 plus several smaller keywords that add up, with 'a hint of' Apple Ads, and mostly sells in the US. That yields ~1,000 downloads a week (4-5K/month).
What happened
$1M revenue in two years, $550K last year, ~$35K MRR; App Masters then bought the app.

“they got multiple apps in their app portfolio and it was this app that actually tooked off for him- for them”
“We're number one, obviously we're number one for these terms, but 41, 41, that's pretty much it.”
“So, roughly around 4 to 5,000 downloads a month, and we're making about 35k MRR with this particular app.”
